hey guys,
i have a new 20gal tank.i have 3 red dwarf gouramis in there right now and was wondering what else i could put in there that would be cool.i'd like to have one angelfish in the mix.any ideas would be great! thanks!

Sorry to disappoint you but Angelfish don't mix well with Gouramis. Plus, a 20 gallon tank is really too small for Angelfish (they need at least 30 gallons of water). But there are plenty of other beautiful and smaller fish Which kinds are you particularly partial to? There are many small and beautiful Tetras, Rasboras, Barbs, etc ... that you can choose from.

You already have 3 Dwarf Gouramis in your tank, which are a total of around 6" - 7.5". That leaves you with additional 14" - 12.5" of space. You could definitely add to your tank a beautiful school/group of some small fish. Some examples are Neon Tetras, Glowlight Tetras, Cherry Barbs, Harlequin Rasboras, Zebra Danios, White Cloud Mountain Minnows, etc ...

i think some peaceful fish that aren't nippers would be good.. otos and corys for the bottom.. then maybe some glass cats, rasboras or x-ray tetras..

thanks for such a quick reply! im glad you told me angelfish and gouramis dont mix. ill have to do a little research and find some cool smaller fish to add. thanks for the help!

i think dwarfs will do fine with 1 angel. u can give it a try.

Aren't anglefish best kept in a group of four?

Angels can do well in groups, but there's trouble if a pair buddies-up or goes into mating.
