Plant identification? should I plant it?

I picked up a plant recetly. Its potted and that little thin looking leaves. Like grassy. What is it? should I plant it? I only have like an inch or so of gravel..... ill post a pic of the plant and the tank. im still deciding what to do with my anubia too. The plant i need identified is the one in the right corner of the tank. I'll post a better pic in a bit. gotta resize it first :

Looks like micro-sword, specifically lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae.

If that's what it is, it will spread quickly, creating a grass-like carpet. I've seen pictures of this, and if it's what you want, it's a very beautiful effect.

Re: Plant identification? should I plant it?

how long will the micro sword last in the pot? I need to go get nutruent tablets for my plain gravel I wish i had better substrate... but money pretty much controls everything. oh well. i dont know when ill be able to get the nutrients, so how long will it last in it's pot? and if i plant it anyways, like say, tommorow, how long will it last without nutrient filled gravel

Re: Plant identification? should I plant it?

It should last awhile in the pot. I'd say a week before it starts suffering for it, and it could remain viable for a very long time after that. Plants like this tend to be very hardy, and as long as one little part of the roots remains alive it has a chance of surviving.
I'm not sure how it would do in the gravel. It would probably start to yellow pretty quickly, as it would suffer from iron deficiency. The pot probably has leftover nutrients from the holding tank. I'd keep it there until you can get nutrient tabs.
