Best way to add weight to Plants

Hey,

Just wondering what is the best way to add weight to the bottom of the plant to help it stay down in the sand/gravel.

Thanks

Brad

Gosh, I don't know the best way but it depends on the plant too.
Tie it to a heavy stone, use the weighters that they have in the store, tie to driftwood?
Mostly I use my imagination.

Yes, what type of plants? If it's plants that do not grow roots you may need to tie them down with fishing line/sewing thread/mesh.

My plants came tied to bog wood with cotton, the roots have now got a good hold around and through the bog wood it looks great and using the vac is alot easyer around the plants as the roots have some level of protecion.

regards

Phil.

If they have decent roots, try to spread the root system into you substrate and place some larger pieces of gravel or small stones around the crown of the plant....not too tight, it needs to breath. If they are the type that is meant to grow in sand or gravel (whatever you use) and dont have decent roots...go to your local dealer and see if they carry the heavey twists that will help anchor them. If so, dont wrap them too tight, I have left extra wrap extending out to act as better anchors.
