HC Baby tears

I need some advice for my HC. I'm trying to have the HC cover my aquarium but it's not doing that exactly. It spreads some but then it comes up out of the flourite showing the roots and all. The bulk of it is still planted, which is at least keeping the bunches anchored, but almost half of a bunch comes out of the flourite.

Anybody know why and how I get it back in? Maybe the cory's? I don't know.

I have not tried HC but it sounds like it would be the corys diggging it out

Hemianthus Callitrichoides.(aka dwarf baby tears) The other are Micranthemum Unbrosum and Hemianthus Micranthemoides.
HC doesnt have a very deep root system and even strong water flow can pull them up until they develope more roots.. They tend to root best in sand and very fine substrates.
You may not have enough lighting to keep it to low though. It should do fine growing vertically but as a "grass" higher light is generally prefered.

Well I hope lighting isn't an issue. I have 216 watts of T-5 HO. I refuse to go higher than that on this tank. So I'll hope it's the Cory's or the Flourite. Do you think if I plant them deeper in the substrate such that only the smallest amount of the leaf/flower is showing that it'll live and work it's way up to the light or die from not enough light?

Sorry I misread the lighting...you should be fine.
It shouldnt hurt anything to put them a little deeper into the substrate.

I have some floating around in a couple of my tanks right now. I've tried tweezers and putting a big clump on the substrate with a couple little stones to hold it down while it takes root. It's always floating by the next day.
