replanting after taking same plants out to treat ich

I had to take my plants out to treat ICH and I had them in a jar of water and they have started to turn brown and the leaves are curling. I have replanted them in my tank today but I am wondering if they will live or what will happen to them. One of the plants is under the "waterfall" from the filter and the other is at the front of the tank. The one that is at the front of the tank isn't moving but since it is close to the waterfall "rebound" off of the other plant do you think that it will be ok?

Yes it depends on the plant but is it all brown and kind of mushy? If so throw them away.

Pictures would really help!

Ok, I forget the name I threw out the packaging. They aren't mushy just dieing I guess. if you could tell me the name and I can look up how to take care of them and if you guys can give me some pointers... Do you think being back in the tank with the currents and more oxygen they will make it?

Hello Mikka,

I once took out an anubia that needed to be retied to some driftwood and by the time I got done, it was dry and the leaves were curled. Man, that was a beautiful plant. When I got it back in the tank, the snails were in heaven and they ate most of the leaves. I thought it was a gonner but it has kept it's pretty green color and has not died. The leaves don't look as great as they once did but it is still here.

If the water current from the "waterfall" is too strong, move the plant or can you control the amount of water coming out of the filter? If your plant gets taller, it will really get beat up from the water current.

You're other plant that is in the front of the tank should be okay. As long as water is moving, that is good. Maybe that type of plant isn't flimsy so it doesn't move as easily...

It looks like an amazon sword. Your plant still looks good if any leaves turn brown and mushy just clip it off it will grow new leaves.

How many watts do you have?

I have a 19 watt light. I can clip the leaves off with the plant in the tank right? Do I have to sanitize the scissors before I put them in the water and if so how do I sanitize them?

You can use rubbing alcohol but make sure it's dry and it doesn't smell like alcohol before you put the scissor in to clip it off. When it's ready to be clipped make sure you clip closest to the roots. You also have 1.9 wpgs you may need co2 in your tank to help it grow more.

Your aquarium info states you have a goldfish in a 1 gallon. How long has the fish been in there?
