Additives with Eco-complete?

Do I need to add any nutrients to the water (like iron or trace nutrients, etc.) with my eco-complete substrate now in there?

Stats: 20g FW planted tank; only eco-complete for substrate; Coralife 65w power strip. Plants are: 2 dwarf lily bunches; 1 bunch green cabomba; 2 pennywort bunches; 2 red ludwigia bunches; 1 bunch scarlet temple; 2 red swords; 1 moss ball.

You don't HAVE to add ferts when using a nutrient substrate but I always reccomend adding fertilizer tablets on a periodic basis to top up the mineral content of the nutrient substrate. That will extend it's life by up to double sometimes. Seeing as you have only the moss ball as a non-substrate rooted plant I would avoid liquid or powdered ferts altogether. The moss ball will have plenty of ferts from the fish wastes in the water column. Adding liquids or powders will just encourage algae growth but not benefit the plants a great deal. I would only use liquid ferts at all if you see deficienies & can positivley identify them. You could then get Iron or Pottasium to use for the deficency but otherwise avoid them & just use tabs in the substrate.
