Wild Moss??

can u have wild moss like in the pictures on Tony G.'s thread aquascaping Ideas!!

the problem with going out the stream in your backyard and harvesting some moss for you aquarium is that there is no way of knowing what bacteria or diseases or fungus might be in that moss since its growing in the wild.

Different species have different requirements, so the best answer we can give is "maybe."

If you pluck a delicate moss out of 60ºF fast-moving stream and place it a low-circulation 80ºF tank, you might not have the best results. If you pick a hardy moss, you might have better luck. It's hard to say.

If you used Riccia and tied it onto rocks it would look similar and it would be safe.
