Plant ID and help

Anyone know what this plant is?? And what sort of requirements does it need? I got it from a friend but am not sure if my tank gets enough light for it.

Looks like Giant Hygrophila or Temple Plant which is a type of Hygrophila too.

Might be a hygro but it has the look of some of the Petco non aquatics as well. It looks very houseplant to me. Brazilian sword??

Your plant is not a sword. Sword plants develop individual leafs that come from the base (as in rosette) of the plant. The plant in the pic of wendle looks like non-aquatic to me too but could be a species of Hygrophila... time will tell. Hygrophiola species usually need a lot of light and frequent fertilization. Keep an eye on it and let us know how it adapts to your tank,

will do! at the moment it is fine, I have been using "plant food" that comes in the bottle - you know the liquid kind. And all my plants seem to be ok, but they don't get much natural light at all. Just my tube which is a fish tank tube but i'm not sure exactly which one as it is too hard to take the hood off my tank to check.
