Low light plants commonly found in most LFS's suitable for a standard tank
Anarchis (do not bleach) good algae buster
hornwort (sometimes sheds, beware) good algae buster
java moss (attach to rock/driftwood or leave floating) great for fry hiding places
java fern (attach to rock/driftwood)
some swords
anubias (attach to rock/driftwood)
crypts
african fern
pennywort
watersprite
hygro

Few techniques to spotting non-aquatic plants and high-light plants, eventually you can see by sight what plants you can grow or not

How to spot non-aquatic plants
1.If the plant can support it's weight out of the water it's usually non-aquatic

1. Has multiple colors in it, not just green (crypts are low light)
