Hi everyone. I keep one Aponogeton species in the Angelfish tank. The tallest tank I have at the moment (29US gal, Aqueon 26). It shares the tank with other thriving plants. I keep
pH at 6.8 - 7.0 range, with
DKH at 2.0 -3.5, dGH at 5.0 -5.5,
DIY CO2 keeps it from 12ppm (lights on, day time) to 24ppm (lights off, nigth). The substrate is a blend of Eco-Complete and natural river sand (collected by myself at Jimenoa River) roughly in a 7:3 ratio.
I've been dosing somewhat carelessly (mostly once but seldomly twice a month) with chelated iron and a few other trace elements, depending on the availbility of liquid fertilizers (e.g.
API Leaf Zone, Tetra Flora Pride). Since I noticed the flower stem I began dosing weekly. Another flower stem is looking for the surface!
I don't know exactly the species but today I trimmed three somewhat damaged leaves and the longest one measures 33" (84cm) long.
