I bought a bunch of anacharis more than a month ago from PetSmart. It's been sitting by itself in a clear bucket since then. I've never found any snails or any other hitchhikers.

After a month, is it safe now to put into my tanks? Or would you still sterilize it with bleach or potassium permanganate?

Not all plants can handle a bleaching, so I think that's more the choice of the aquarist. I'd say if you haven't seen snails in a month, then you're probably safe. Kudos on being so patient and such a careful tank owner.

Thanks. Although, it was not my original plan to quarantine them for so long. I just figured it wouldn't hurt if I left them there while I upgraded one of my tanks.

If you have the means this was a good move. Better to be safe than sorry when putting anything into your show tank.
I assume pics will be coming?
