co2 system with diy batch.

Do you know if I can make my own batch and able to use it with this product?

I do, but for some reason it doesn't last as long. I know it has to do with the amount/percentages of yeast sugar and bakingsoda but since yeast only cost $1.50 for three packs (which can be used 6 to 9 times) and I don't use the bakingsoda because my tap water is so hard, I have decided to mix it myself rather than spending the 7 bucks.
As a matter of fact, someone is selling me another CO2 Natural Plant System next Mon.

That's the one.

One tank has the CO2 going into the intake of my canister filter, one tank I have the CO2 "Natural Plant System" going up the ladder, and two others just have the home made mix going into an air stone.

Just remember to put a check valve in or you can find your tank all cloudy from fragmented yeast and sugar water back siphoning into your tank...

... and you start to panic when you see the color of the water
... and yous see two dead ottos laying on the bottom of the tank!
... and your betta is curled in the corner of the tank!!
... and you spasm out while trying to do water changes!!!
... hoping it's not too late!!!!
... bitting your lip and praying Blue will wake up!!!!!
.... Yelling...Please Blue, DON'T DIE!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

sorry- where was I?

Oh yea the check valve. Make sure you have one.

I have DIY hooked up to a different brand than that one and I've had decent results.

A check valve is a must! Be sure to put the bottles where they can't be knocked over. It really is a disaster if the yeast mixture ends up in your tank. I had the little bottle that came with the hydor system get knocked over and my whole tank turned white. The fish all lived but I had to take everything out of the tank and do a major cleaning. The fish were laying on the bottom trying to die on me within like a half hour.

Woohoo! I've been looking all over for that site! I've seen it on a thread before but I didn't know it was on yours. Thanks a bunch!
