My oscar seems to have a reoccuring case of fin rot. I have no clue why all the water conditions are normal and all that...but thats not the question of this thread. I have been putting him in a quarentine tank but a batch of baby guppies is taking up that tank and my only choice is to treat him in his big tank. I generally use maracyn tc to treat the fin rot and was wondering if that or anyother medications would be harmful to the aquarium plants that I have in there. I'm fairly new to keeping lives plants and have just got them growing really well and would really not want to kill them. If the medication is going to harm them I'll move them. If anybody knows and could shed some light on this that would be awesome. thanks!

Hello Va1 and Welcome to Fish Lore. I haven't read anything that stated medications would harm your plants. I'm a plastic plant person myself so let's wait for some more responses to be certain.

I don't know the ingredients of every medication available, so I can't say that medications will never harm plants, but I have used Maracyn and Maracyn-Two in planted tanks with no adverse effects on the plants.
