FW sand plant?

Another plant thread! ok, this time I'd like to ask if there are any plants that do well in a FW tank with sand as the substrate. I know that some plants dont do good because their roots can get compacted in the sand, among other reasons. right now the only plant I know that could do well in sand is the red mangrove plant.
thanks.

there may or may not be a problem with adding MTS to the tank. Im stuck between GBRs, and f8s as the choices for the next tank stock. if I choose f8s, they will make quick work of the mts.

but thanks for the plant tips, I'll research the species youve told me!

I have crypts and swords in my sand tank. You can put plant tabs under the swords to give them direct feedings since they are heavy root feeders.

The MTS will come out at night but I'm not sure puffers would be interested

Possibly, unless if theyre really deep down, then the puffer might not get 'em.

i dont really know anything about puffers. mts are cheap, i think if i were you i would try some and see if they got snacked on. they really are great in the sand to keep it from compacting

i've kept dwarf puffers in a tank with mts, and the mts didn't seem to disappear. my puffer preferred ramshorns, pond snails, and worms.

i also keep my plants (lilies, crininum, anubias, java fern/moss, marimos, ludwigia, water sprite, hygrosperma sp, blyxa, crypt sp, guppy grass, apons, and i can't remember what else in sand.
