how many plants at a time?

i have a ten gallon tank that has been cycled. i was just wondering if i should only add a plant or two at a time and slowly plant the tank or if i could just decorate the tank with an appropriate amount of plants. i haven't seen any protocol on this subject, just wondering if someone could give me some advice! i have learned that this is the best place to get sound advice from experienced aquarists(is that a word?Ha). fishlore's members have taught me everything i know about fish keeping! thanks everybody

Good morning T-ace. There shouldn't be any problems adding all the plants that you want. Have fun and I hope you can share some pictures .

t-ace. MANY fish stores (including Petco and Petsmart as well as smaller non chain) carry "aquatic" plants that arent truly aquatic. A few names for them could be Brazilian Sword, (not amazon sword which IS aquatic), Aluminum plant, Purple Waffle, Dracaena, and Lucky Bamboo. Before adding any plants to your aquarium ID them online or post pics here. That way if they sell you something that isnt going to last you,can return them. This is very very common and most plant keepers have done this.
I would also recommend dipping in a one part bleach to 19 parts water solution of bleach for a minute. Followed by lots of rinsing. I even use a little toothbrush while rinsing to clean off any hitchhiking snail eggs. Snails can get out of control when you add plants.
