Wisteria question

I'm confused If Wistera grows fast then how come mine doesn't? I bought it about a month and a half ago? I just started using flourish excel 2 weeks ago. I also have 15w Flora Sun T5 lighting 10k and I leave it on from 9 to 9 everyday!

I moved your post to its own thread.

Plants have their own particular needs. I have an underlit tank that, for some reason, grows wisteria really well. Others have tanks with appropriate lighting and have problems keeping the stuff alive. I'm sure there's some water parameter (a particular mineral or something) that makes all the difference.

What kind of water parameters do I need? When do you know when to clip plants?

The reason I didn't state a specific one is that I don't know it. It could be a particular mineral (iron is often a missing piece... I have fluorite in the wisteria tank), or a particular wavelength of light (the tank that the wisteria is in has a compact fluorescent bulb and also gets some ambient light from across the living room), or something else entirely.

Wisteria is very good at sucking minerals from the water and using them up. Unless they are replaced the plant wont grow as well or may die.
You can add Trace minerals and fertilizers to replace them as well as increase the percentage of water changed out each week. 50% is not an uncommon thing for planted tanks! I do all 50% , add ferts and trace.

Will do %50 water changes and I add flourish excel every few days or so. Is that good enough?

I tried doing a daily %30-40 WC because one of the gourami's has popeye/white eye but for the past couple of days I haven't done so but I will do a %50 wc tomorrow.
