82 degrees, newish tank - how to anchor plants?

i bought a small freshwater plant from petco, do i need to anchor it somehow? it seems to stay put if i shove some pebbles around it, but i don't know... does it need dirt or sand or something?

i have a blue gourami and 2 red swordtails and 1 pleco.

Usually it's enough, just keep the plant steady.
But what the kind of your plant?
