How to get java moss to float?

I love this stuff!! I think it looks so cool.
Right now, I'm needing some to float.

Any tricks you care to share?

I don't think it will really float. I've seen some people use that plastic craft grid (whatever it's called; it's the stuff that you guys use as betta dividers) to make a moss wall. Maybe you could position a piece toward the top of your tank and allow the moss to attach to it? Then you could make it look like it's floating.

That's what I did first, but only 1 plant is that tall, so while once tiny peice was the the top the rest was gravitating toward the bottom.

That's a good idea. I have some of that around here.
I could probably weave some strands through the holes.

Thanks ladies!

what Harpua said with the plastic grid is compleatly accurate! I've done it before but with little squares and when the moss grows out and gets really bushy it looks so nice

A moss wall sounds like a very interesting look! Do any of you have pictures of a setup like this?

No, I've never done it. I only use black backgrounds (or paint the back of the tank) but I've seen others do it.

I wonder Lucy if you could find a way to attach it to one of those styrofoam balls you buy at the craft store (I assume they float? or a ping pong ball..) Like a moss ball, but not sitting on the bottom.

Thats a good idea too. I have some plastic balls with slots in them, for those of you who remember the kids game Mr. Bucket. lol

the easiest way to get it to float is to wrap it around a ping-pong ball.
