Plant benifit?

If I have a lot of live plants will I have to change the water as much?

Having live plants can allow you to change the water less frequently, but it doesn't entirely eliminate the need.

There's no real calculation to say "this many plants in that many gallons means a required water change of this amount so often". Too many other factors are involved, such as what type of plant, how large it is, how many and what type of fish are in the tank, etc. Even with all that information, no one will be able to tell you exactly how much you need to change.

In general, with one plant, I wouldn't alter your current water change routine, whatever that may be.

remember that with plants, they help control nitrates, but the poo and other waste, still needs to be vacuumed...fresh water also replenishes vitamins and minerals that are lost in the breakdown of water when fish poo and pee....over filtering a tank and understocking , helps with doing less water changes but they still need to be done
