Trouble Identifying a Plant

I used to think this was water sprite; after seeing pictures i'm convinced its not?

its a floating plant with long trailing roots, new growth in the form of miniature baby plants grow in the grooves of the leaves of the mother plant, and they send their roots down until eventually breaking off the mothers big leaf and floating away on their own with their own root system as their own plant. This floating plant produces other new plant insanely- we're talkin the mom plant has 6 leaves, and each of those leaves will have up to 6 baby plants with roots dangling, just waiting for the leaf to die off so they can float away on their own!

i think it may be a very large ceratopteris cornuta....aka floating fern. that is what it most closely resembles in my aquarium plant mini encyclopedia anyways

It is Oakleaf Watersprite also known as Indian Fern Scientifically known as Ceratopteris cornuta http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=52
If you break of a single leaf and let it float new plants will grow at every crease of the leaf.

awwww so it IS a water sprite after all!? Thanks butterfly!! I'm having trouble with another plant also...& it makes me mad i shouldnt of gotten it but i did, aquabid offers it. This guy has so many dif. kinds of mosses and ferns and whatnot he like owns this moss-selling deal everywhere... anyways.

its called Plagiomnium Trichomanes

i've searched online, cant find, and i even used your link butterfly, to no luck aquabid describes it as easy to grow in all light conditions from low-high but obviously i would say the same to make a buck. I cant find info on this plant ANYWHERE!

As for the Plagiomnium trichomanes....it may not be an aquatic plant after all, please read the following thread:

pepeti thanks so much for the link! after reading it i was able to email and change my order to the fissidens that i had really wanted instead! and actually, after telling them i wanted to change my order and take off the plagiomnium because 'it isn't even a true aquatic plant', they had told me my order already shipped, but they would mail me the fissidens for FREE for the trouble! & encouraged me to still try the plagiomnium because 'even though it isn't grown submerged, many customers have had good results with it', yea...right...i'll put it in the water but wont be mad when it dies. Good customer service though with the free plant! thanks again though pepe this is all about you! if i could give rep- i would give it
