What makes an Amazon Sword a "Mother"

As the thread title states. What makes an Amazon Sword plant a mother plant? Age?
Will all Sword plants eventually have baby swords or do some not have babies?
I have one mother plant and several babies that are starting to get bigger so I was just curious.

OOO, I was just looking for/at them. I want a couple, they are huge. They are the start of the Amazon Sword that most of us purchase. It's the mother of the ones we usually purchase. And the mother you buy will have sections to reproduce. I guess it is the age of the plant.
I'll see if I can find the article I read about this.

I have a Mother plant and have had several babies. I was just wasn't sure exactly how it became a mother plant and what makes a mother different from the other (I made a rhyme!)
I wonder if- When my babies mature will they then become mothers or is a completely different plant.
BTW yes they are big. Mine was about 9 inches tall when I got it with about 10 Leaves and 1 baby. 4 months later it is about 30 leaves and quickly outgrowing my 20 gln cube. I have removed 6 or so babies so far.

Sounds like Amazon swords. They get huge I think all swords produce daughter plants if their healthy.
What makes it a mother plant? Having daughters of course

Do you put plant tabs under your swords? If not and your concerned you could do that but they sound like their growing just fine.
