wanna help me identify my hitchhiker plant?

When I recently bought some java moss, I had some left over after what I used up on the same driftwood I attached some anubias and java fern to, so I spread some on top of a bridge ornament I had in a cycling 5g. I figured it'll be a bonus as the bridge has some corners that are pointier than I'd like (ideally I'd like to put a betta in there, may re-evaluate that) and I figured a bunch of moss on top would 'soften' it - and look cool! So there were a few surprises in the moss - some gravel, a few pieces of what I now know was elodea (dead unfortunately) and this little thing, which ended up on top of the bridge and appears to be doing ok. I didn't actually see what else was in the tank with the moss when I bought it, I'd called ahead and it was ready for me when I came in. The leaves turned a little brown at first but are now coming back green. There's a mass of roots developing on the left side too (towards the glass). It's pretty tiny - the heater you can see in the background is a 25W visitherm, if that helps. I thought it might be a teensy anubias - thoughts? I'm pretty jazzed about it, I hope it lives and gets huge!

Very cool! Buy one get one free, not a bad deal.
It will appreciate a little root tab when it gets planted.

OK, now the 'dumb' question: it has a long reddish root-type thingy (rhizome?) with several roots coming off it, and some leaves. So by 'plant it' does that mean bury the rhizome in the substrate? or tie it to something like with the anubias? I'd assume the former as otherwise what good would a root tab be , however its shape isn't lending to that really well...atm it's basically buried in gravel with some leaves poking out.

First... There are no dumb questions if you don't know the answer.
You can lay the Rhizome on the substrate and bury the roots or you can bury the whole thing but not deep. It will send runners off eventually and new ones will come through the substrate.
All of mine are buried and have formed clumps

thanks - it's ok then. I bought some new ones today (about 20X bigger lol) and they're all in there the same way. Ordered some root tabs too!

Nate I can't tell what kind it is. Look at the pic above and let's see if we can figure out what kind it is for her

Thanks so much for the help guys! (I'm having so much fun with this plant business there's now plants in all six tanks!)

I'm including a couple shots of the 5g with the teeny crypts + new crypts. I don't know what those are either - opinions? I love the way they look though. The guy in the store said 'they're crypts' (even I knew that) and 'they won't get any bigger'. He also mentioned something about if they get too much light they'll turn red (or maybe it was not enough light...?) I ordered some root tabs yesterday (and some Flourish for the anubias/moss/java fern).

The stems on that one are green, and mine are red/'tan'...does that matter? otherwise, dead on (must make sure not to ever move them it seems too)

I think the Walkeri as well as the Wendetti come in a "bronze' variety. That could account for the stem color or it may be something totally different. A Plant Guru friend of mine says it's very difficult to ID Crypts unless you can see it bloom but a very nice set of plants anyway
