Plant ID help...

got this from petsmart (the little plastic tube ones), but i don't think it is what the package said it was. there were 3 plants in the bunch and the other two never grew and just died. this one went CRAZY. and the leaves don't look the same as the other 2 plants that died.

if anyone has any ideas or info, please let me know, cause i would like to get a couple more.

It looks like a dwarf sword... I have a few of these but no conclusive ID either.

that would kinda make sense. it was in the "amazon sword" tube. but the others leaves didn't look like the ones on this one. and...like i said, the other two died.

the longest leaves are probably 6 or 8 inches.

Plants are frequently grown emersed. Emersed leaves often look different than submerged leaves. When they are planted under water the new leaves will look different.
It looks like an Amazon Sword (Echinodorus bleheri)

I would agree with butterfly. Looks like Bleheri to me. The other ones would have most likely made it if you left them. I had one that the rhyzome broke off and per another members recomendation I left it in the tank. Its now my biggest healthiest sword.
Root tabs really help these plants go nuts by the way.

i left them it forever and they just kept deteriorating. cause i was hopin they'd make it. but they started rotting from the stems up and no new growth.

Sometimes plants, as fish, don't make it and we have no clue what went wrong.

It is also beneficial to cut off bad growth quickly so the plant can put its energy toward new growth rather than repair. I also think pepetj is right in that the plant may have been going before it even made it into your tank. Hopefully the new one will do better!
