Moss wall

What is the best/coolest moss to use for a moss wall? I like the Star moss the best but will that work well? I also like Phoenix moss(Fissidens fontanus). How much moss would i need to make a wall?

Ive got christmas moss on a couple of pieces of driftwood right now. I'm not sure what I plan on doing with it. My original thought was to make the wall that youre talking about, but I want to see how it grows first-with the low lighting that I have.
OOO! Actually i have 3 peices of driftwood with the moss, two in the 10 gal and large peice in the 55 gal-pretty much floating at the top of the tank.

I was told the Christmas moss is the best for moss walls. they apparently layer a lot better the java moss and is easier to maintain.

I like the look of Christmas moss. If I were going to do a moss wall, Which I have considered, I would use Christmas moss. Good luck with it..I def want to see pics.

I know that it takes quite a bit to make a substantial wall. Unless you are patient and let it grow in.

Christmas moss is the nicest in my opinion. However, it is hard to find at least in my area. I had to get mine from ebay or aquabid.

Good luck!

If it is aquamagic, that is who I got mine from. I bought 4 2x2 sections, and the sections are very thin(as thin as a sheet of paper), and spread out in a ziploc bag. It would definately not be very lush at first. The product was good, but not sure it is worth the money for as little as you get.

It's hard to have patience but it will grow out. My planted tank is gong to take awhile and it's KILLING me not to have it full grown luscious planted tank..lol..But I guess I'll wait. If you didn't want to fork out a whole bunch all at once you could just put it in patches and wait. The stuff grows faster then you would think.
