Considering Planting First tank

The tank is fully cycled and is housing a pair of breeding bristlenose catfish and their babies. I'm also currently dealing with a brown algae problem so this may not happen for a while. What I'd like to know is what are the best plants to use.

driftwood is a must. Plecos love driftwood!

As for plants, look for something broad-leafed that they can eat off of. Java fern is low light, and can be attached to driftwood. Crypts are good as well.

Careful with driftwood as it will lower your pH. Which of your tans has the algae problem? I notice one is lit by a desk lamp and a window. Natural light may be the cause of the algae. Plants could actually help the Algae problem because plants will outcompete the algae for nutrients.
Do you know how many watts of light you have in the other two tanks? That would be useful info when making a decision what plants will work for you.
PS welcome to plants...I thought of them as decoration at first but they are so much fun!

+1 on adding plants to deal with your algae problem, they feed off of the same thing so adding plants means less food for the algae

i'd go with java fern, java moss, anubias, and anacharis

it's the tank that i'm planting. I does have some natural light. I pulled down the shade by it farther than normal. I've had a tank in this spot for over two years i've only had a problem since about december.
