I have about 9 bunches of Jungle Val in my aquarium. Recently one of the eldest bunches has turned almost completely dark red. Is it dead or has it just changed pigment?

The only time my vals have turned red is after a leaf broke off and floated at the surface unnoticed for a day or two. Since clearly the leaf is dead in that case, I'd say it doesn't look good for your val...

Never had jungle val before, nor have I had a plant turn red. I have however had a corkscrew val turn almost completely brown/kinda red only to have it have a bunch or runners come shooting out and the plant bounce back healthier than ever.
