propagating Anacharis

Okay, I have this one big long stem of Anacharis growing, about the height of my 55 gallon tank. If I cut it in half, would either side grow, so that there are 2 plants instead of one? Thanks!

Good question, I am interested in knowing the answer to this one as well.

You can cut it into several pieces and plant all the cuttings. Then when they grow you can cut them

PFP it is a nitrate sponge so maybe you don't have much Nitrates in the other two
It's really good for a tank that is a little overstocked.

Anacharis is a wonderful soft looking plant and I would love to try it in my tank. After some research it states that it needs moderate lighting at 2watts per gallon and it needs fertilizers as well.
Is this the case from the experience of those with this plant?

Ah, that makes sense. I have really low nitrates all the time... there's like none in my tap water. Perhaps I should slow down the water changes
