Tank Plants

I have a 36G tank with bala's, Tetra's, Pictus cats, and mollies. I originally had a few plants in the tank but they kept comming apart and clogging up the filters. I am looking for something that stays together well and is more "leafy".

Also, the local stores dont appear to have a very good selection of plants. Any websites you can order from online and have the plants shipped to the house?

Picture of the tank(I had to yank out the plants that where in there):

Pretty tank Plants that have fine leaves tend to shed really bad.
Any of the Java Ferns, Anubias, Bolbitis and Crypts would do well in your tank.
Here is a great place to research plants www.plantgeek.net

Most of our local stores are limited in their selection. I ended up buying Christmas Moss from Ebay. Shipping is usually worth it. Just research what you see and like because you might not want to do all the lighting and carbon dioxide infusion that some plants require.

Thanks, All of the responses are great. Looks like I have some reading to do

On another note, debating on getting a ~50ish gallon tank for home. The one in the picture above is actually at work.

Well i ended up getting some Anubius java fern and some sort of grass to go around the log. Ill post pictures when done planting.

On another note, I have a 17W bulb on a 36 gallon tank. How do i determine how many Watts/gallon I am at? I assume 17/36 which means I have .5 watts/gallon which is pretty low right?

Yes thats rather low light, for plants. Some will still grow, just more slowly.

Water is a bit cloudy, this is my tank at work so I took the pictures soon as I was done. From the webcam we have setup on the tank I can see that its already clearing up.

Looking good! I just checked the webcam. Room is too dark. Is my dear husband allowed to leave his lamp on at night/on the weekends? Oh, no... I know... you need the lunar lights. That way I can sit at home and watch my fish and yours on my computer. That would be oober relaxing.

Yes. This is what must be done. And you will also set up the tank you mentioned above.
