Hitchikers on duckweed?

Got some duckweed for my babies since they love to munch on it. Noticed small, white, thin, wiggly worms dropping down out of it. They must have been in between 1/2 and 1 inch in length. What were they?

You beat me to it shawnie by three minutes
If they are planaria your fish will probably eat them. they are harmless and a good source of protein.
I do suggest rinsing plants in the future though

Well, when I search planaria I get two different looking critters. This is what my invaders look like.

So if this is due to overfeeding.... Well, the tank my duckweed came out of was just gravel, water, algae, java moss, various snails, and duckweed. I wouldn't think they would "overfeed" a tank with no fish.

Thanks for the help! Nasty looking little critters really gave me the heebeejeebeez!

They may still be feeding the snails or just not doing water changes. The snails will add more to the water than you would think. keep us posted

UPDATE:
Sorry for bumping the thread but I just found two videos that are exactly what I am talking about in the initial thread. Here is the first video showing what I was trying to describe. Found another one and put it in a cup. It is still alive several hours later.

It did! (They do!) I have one in a cup on my desk. Two feet away... it wiggles... planning on how to get past my skin layers.... maybe through a cut... into my blood... to my brain... SLURP!

j/k

Too much sci-fi, mystery books, and youtube videos of nasty wounds, zits, and bot fly larva.

Seriously, it is a nasty looking little thing. Is it a nematode? Do I need to kill it? Will salt work? Halp....I think it is looking at me... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhh!
