Best CO2 Diffuser?

If you don't want to read too much, my basic question is what are good to great brands of diffusers and where are some places I might find them?

The wall of text hits you NOW!

I am thinking about supplementing co2 into my tanks. I have figured out that I will either use one of my paintball co2 tanks or a keg minus the beer (if my local liquer store allows). I pretty much have a good idea of everything I need/want, except the diffuser and I know that it's the most important part of the setup.

I have read up on co2 systems, but I have no clue what kind or brand of diffuser would be best. My parents generally are able to help me out with stuff like this, but the fish they always kept around make a mess of plants (mainly oscars and red/yellow ear sliders), and so they know nothing about co2 systems. I've checked one of my LFS and their selection has everything except the co2 and tank for $200, but I am a little weary about that package.

Money is not an issue right now, I just want to get some idea of what works and what works best. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I like DIY power head with pre-filter types of diffusers.

They are cheap, easy to do, and efficient.

I am using two of them with good results. My CO2 dissolved levels are within the 20-40ppm range, using DIY CO2 generators.

Thank for the reply. I would rather not have to do it myself really, but efficency is my ultimate goal. If that meathod is just as efficient as any other midrange diffuser, I would have no problem with going DIY.

As I have said before, I only found one at any of my lfs's and I don't trust any diffuser that petco would have. For now though, I will look into the power head diy diffuser designs.

I am still open for suggestions and recommendations.
