about planted tanks

jus wondering, do fully planted tanks have to be a sand substrate? or can they be gravel?

Gravel is usually better since plants tend to stay planted better. There are also special plant substrates, of which Eco-Complete is the only one I've tried. I tend to use a different type of plants in my sand tanks than my gravel tanks.

thats fine. we all do things by bits and pieces at times. The research time before hand is so much fun. Do you have an idea of what plants you want to use?

These are a few of my favorite "tough" to kill or destroy plants. They all have a Rhizome

that is attached to rocks, wood or decor. They are literally indestructable. these are the type plants I use in both my gravel and sand tanks.
These are all low light plants.
