Using chemicals as first response isn't necessarily a good thing, especially ph adjustor.

Flourish tabs aren't bad about making ph jump. I'm curious.. would you try an experiment for me? drop a tab into a glass of water let it dissolve and see what the ph is. My Loaches used to dig my tabs up and I never noticed a problem.
How much did the ph change?

If the problem persists and/or the pH flucuates, maybe driftwood or peat would be a natural way to help. If the pH stays stable, then the fish should adjust and be ok.

My ph has always been a little on the high side 7.0 - 7.5 but last night it was at 8 before my water change. Well 8 is as high as my ph test kit goes too. And it was a pretty shade of deep blue...

I did a 40% water change last night and i will test it again when i get home from work.

The PH was back down after the water change last night
