i was setting up my 5.5 tank and was just going to get some java mos since its soppose to be easy care. then i spotted some grass and this broad leaf plant in petco. have no idea what it is but m betta loves it. i know i need to upgrade my lighting since all i have is a 15 watt aquarium florescent light right now.
its hard to get info without a name.

It looks a little like a banana plant...I've just bought one for my Betta tank. Did the roots look like a bunch of bananas?

The plant your Betta is swimming around looks like anubias barteri. I don't think you need more light at all. 15w in 5.5gal means 2.73WPG (at the most), you are OK since it's a low light plant.

Sorry, I don't know why I commented there...I know almost nothing about plants, having just tried a few low light plants.

thats awesome i and saw its easy care which made me so happy. hopefully the grass does well too.
not sure if to much light or needs nutrients the bigger leaves at the surface are turning a little brown.
