hey guys and girls..

i have a quick question. I have 1 54 watt 10,000K bulb, and a 54W 6,700K plant grow bulb for my 55 gallon, which gives me around 1.9 WPG.

I was wondering if my WPG could be slightly higher because its T-5 lighting

how does 108 watts of T-5 lighitng compare to 108 watts of compact flouresent and other types of lighting?

im just curious because at the time i thought 108 watts of T-5 was a lot, but now see that around 2 WPG isnt that high

54W T5s are T5HO bulbs and they are rated 1.22 the lumen to watt ratio compared to t12s in which WPG is based on.

So technically you have 108watts x 1.22 which = 131.76 or about 132 watts over a 55 gallon tank for about a 2.4 WPG rating.
