new plant?

Hello,

I am new to real plants. Two weeks ago, I bought this plant at my local fish store. (See attachment below) I explained to the guy who owned the place that i was interested in, converting all of my plants (slowly) to real plants. I gave him the specifics of my tank, and he recommend that i start with this plant. The plant seems to be doing VERY well. However, it sprouted three leaves to the top of the water?? I've never seen this type of plant before? Should i trim it so there are just leaves at the base or should i keep the three leaves at the surface??

Thanks for your help

Mark

IMO, that's a cryptocorne....? I think new plantlets will form at the ends of those long stalks and you can in turn plant those.

Very nice.

It's really a little hard to see the plant. Did it have a bulb that you planted?
Cryptocorne usually multiply by sending out runners instead of shooting into the air.
