Flourite wow is this stuff dirty

Hi, I am upgrading my 29gal to a Flourite substrate, i have been cleaning this one bag for a half an hour, and its still muddy. The website says it is pre-washed and just needs a rinse to remove the residual dust. Has anyone else used this stuff before and knows of any secrets to cleaning it, it would be much appreciated, i still have 2 bags to go once this one is clean.

I use Flourite in my 10 Gallon. I didn't even bother rinsing it. I just put it in, covered it with water (make sure you use a plate so that it doesn't splash all over the place) and planted. Then I filled the rest of the tank up with water. I was cloudy for a day, but my filter took care of that problem. My water has been crystal clear ever since.

It is messy stuff, you just have to be careful and have a patience.

I would rinse it, as you have, but then just put it in and let the filter take care of the rest. I'd suggest changing the finer filter media after the water clears (leave the bio-media sponge in place, though). I've used the stuff in three different tanks and have had the same issue every time, no matter how much I rinsed it. I've found that EcoComplete is much easier to work with, and plants seem to like it.

well i finished rinsing it, finally and got it in the tank, put the rocks and plants in and filled it up its pretty clear very surprisingly. I don't know if i would use this stuff again, but i guess its all how good the plants do.

I had to rinse my red Flourite many, many times to get rid of all the red "mud" that came off it.

The good news is that my plants are doing fantastic in it.
