i bought a couple java plants couple weeks ago and they are thriving but there is green hair growing off the tips of the tallest leaves. curious what this is? my gourami loves eating the stuff.

ah ok....thanks. makes sense as its starting to grow on my lava rock as well. not like in the pic but blue/greem compact variety. that part of the plant happens to be directly under the filter outflow and my light as well.

We've had a bit of that algae spring up - our BN plecos, cherry shrimp and even our platys love the stuff.

i'm hoping the compact variety thats growing on my lava rocks eventually covers them completely. i saw a planted tank with algae covered lava rocks and they were impressive.
