Floating plants

I'm looking for a floating plant to go with dwarf gouramis and neon tetras. Lower the maintenance and lighting needs, the better for me. Or just one that can easily be found in pet stores in the US.

Water sprite also called Indian fern is a great floating plant that can also be planted in the substrate. http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=52

Wisteria is a little different, although I have both growing out the tops of my tanks. Water sprite is floating and wisteria is planted

There are also two different watersprites

What would be a way of telling if my LFS is selling water sprite as water wisteria? I noticed you said in another topic that you've had the experience.

study your pictures.. there is a difference in leaf pattern. Both can be planted, and I have some of both planted but I prefer water sprite floating.

Let it float and see if it dies or not. If it doesn't you've got some sprite, if it does then your not so lucky.
