Mondo Grass

can i have some information on mondo grass. ive heard it cant survive in a tank for very long, because it cant be completly submerged.

plaese leave everything u know about this plant thanks!

Its a ripoff, unless you're buying it to do some landscaping in your flowerbeds...in that case, it looks very nice, but it will not survive more than a few months in your aquarium. It is not a true aquatic plant, and will simply rot away and pollute your aquarium. Its scientific name is Ophiopogon japonica.

I also bought mondo grass from Petsmart. I bought it about 7 months ago. Its still in the betta tank. Its not dead tho... and has grown somewhat. I was surprised to hear that they were not aquatic plants. Its not doing that great, but I like the look next to the pagoda.

My Mondo grass started rotting about a month after buying it. It's now planted among my other terrestrial plants.
It is very hardy stuff, and can handle being submerged periodically (I think that it lives in areas near rice paddies in Japan, which means it would get flooded out on a regular basis)
