Plant ph question

The ph in my tank is 8.3. Most plants seem to like 6.5-7.5, would 8.3 be too high for plants?

There are likely many plants that will have a problem with that. There are also likely plants that can deal with the higher pH. I would guess that Java Fern would be a good bet for surviving, since it seems to be able to survive nearly anything.

Does anyone else have any experience with this? Im hesitant when it comes to ph lowering chemicals as ive heard that it can be hard to maintain a stable level, but I want a heavily planted tank...

My tap water is actually ground water, so it is very hard and has a ph out of the tap at about 8.4-8.8 But it's high in other nutrients plants love.
I'm currently only dosing Iron and a micro trace, no CO2 just Excel.
I'm putting out about 1.9wpg with a PCF 6700K.

My plants are doing very well. Except; Ceratopteris pteridioides, (Not enough Lighting for this one)
I have a wide variety consisting of;
Hygrophilia Polysperma Sunset, Nymphaea stellata, Rotala_rotundifolia, Marsilea sp, Lugwigia Repens, Ludwigia arcuataXrepens, Cryptocoryne Wendtii or Walkerii, Ambulia, Cryptocoryne spiralis, African Fern, Java Fern, Peacock Moss, Ceratopteris pteridioides, Java moss and Ceratophyllum submersum.

I do intend to add CO2 soon.
This will bring down my PH to a more suitable range for the plants.
