Should i have fake or live plants in my 10 gallon tank. What kind of plants. I have the following fish:

2 Dwarf Platys
2 Gold Barbs
4 Guppies
1 Cori
1 neon tetra

Your fish would be perfectly happy with artificial plants if you don't want to hassle with live plants. The usual recommendation is to use silk plants, or high-quality plastic. Many of us here are fond of the Tetra Wonders line of plants.

The fish you have would appreciate finer/smaller leafed plants that provide good hiding places. Put smaller plants towards the front, and taller ones in the back.

If you do want to put some live plants in there, read the threads that are listed in the sticky post at the top of this forum first. Then come back with questions about particular plants you may be interesting in growing.

I would add live plants. Your tank is pretty heavily stocked, and live plants will help keep the water cleaner. Head to www.plantgeek.net, search for low light plants, and look for anything that is listed as an "easy" difficulty.

I would also suggest looking into getting a larger tank in the near future. Guppies like swimming room, and, as I said, that tank is heavily stocked. On top of that, cories like company of their own kind, and you really don't have any room to add another to that tank.
