Are mosses in my backyard good for tank?

OH, WELL HELLO THERE!

I was amazed by the thread here about beautiful aquatic mosses by Isabella. Now, I kill for aquatic mosses. The stores don't have any. We have a lot of moss growing around our house. Are they aquatic enough for my tank?

Please hurry, my beautiful dwarf gourami is getting angry about the tank not having plants. I am under their spell of elegance.

"GO TO THE STORE AND BUY US PLANTS..........NOW!"

"Yes, master.........."

Java (and other) mosses are available from pretty much every on-line aquarium plant vendor.

No, plants and mosses outside are different kinds of mosses and would definitely not be good for your tank. A lot of stores don't have very good plant selections, but you can do some research online and get some plants shipped to your house. What kind of lighting do you have in your tank? Some plants need a lot more lights than others.

The moss would likely rot in your tank.
