Almost real

Does anyone know of any fake plants that are not apparently fake? I want fake plants that seem as real as possible. The reason is I don't have the time for constantly trimming and maintaining the plants and I definately don't want an unhappy aquarium as a result of this. Thanks all.

I believe silk plants tend to look more realistic but they also tend to be a bit more costly. I've stuck mostly with plastic and I know they don't look that great but the fishies don't seem to mind and enjoy playing in them.

Yes, silk plants usually look the most real, but they are more expensive than the plastic plants. For plastic, I've found that the Tetra Waterwonders look the most realistic, and don't have the sharp edges some of the cheaper plastic plants have.

what size tank? and what kinds of fish?
plastic plants are fine for fish like tetras, & barbs...but silk plants are a must for bettas and other fish w/ delicate tails

I agree with the above comments. Silk plants do look more realistic and they don't have sharp edges as the rest of plastic plants do, which is a big plus. A variety of silk plants under nice lighting can make your tank look pretty natural If you'll use driftwood, I'd suggest some Java Moss on it - it can grow under very low lighting you know, and all you need to do is just tie it to driftwood, and let it grow. You do know there are quite a few undemanding low-light plants, don't you .

I'll second the Tetra Water Wonders. For the price, they're very nice looking plants. I have a 50/50 mix of live low light and fake, and until you're right on top of them the Tetra WW look decent.

I know I have some Tetra but I don't recall which ones but I mostly have Top Fin since its all I can get my hands on. They're pretty nice, very easy to clean but I like keeping them towards the back and behind decorations.

i keep tetra ww in my betta tanks because of their delicate fins...no rips or tears to date...so my fish and i are happy w/ them
