Can moss attach on gravel?

I just read the thread about beautiful aquarium mosses and I really want to have some. But I have a question: Can moss attach and grow on gravel? I would like some grass-like plants on my aquarium floor and because the pet stores near me doesn't have anymore plants. Can it also attach on artificial ornaments? Thanks in advance.

Java moss will attach to almost anything.
