CO2 and fish health

I was thinking about adding some CO2 to my tank to increase the plant growth and was wondering if there are any bad effects on fish of adding CO2 to the tank. Anyone know?

I know this is a very long thread: http://plantgeek.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10175 - but it would answer a lot of your questions about CO2 and fish safety. The only reason I haven't gotten a CO2 system yet is precisely my concern about the safety of my fish.
