Beautiful Aquatic Mosses

Hello everyone

I found this very cool website a while ago about all kinds of beautiful aquatic mosses. Aquatic mosses are low-light plants that are very easy to grow. They should be attached to various surfaces in your tank such as rocks and driftwood. Once they start growing, these plants begin to look amazing.

Here is the website: http://www.aquamoss.net/Introduction.htm
Here are various kinds of mosses described: http://www.aquamoss.net/Moss-List.htm (amazing pictures included)
And here is how to make a beautiful moss wall in your own tank: http://www.aquamoss.net/How%20to%20c...oss%20wall.htm

Enjoy the website and ... get some mosses ! (I suddenly feel very green! LOL )

Thanks for the links Isabella..
I have been doing some research for some low light plants for my tanks and these seem to fit the bill. I like how they grow on the driftwood. I will have to check them out when I go to the LFS. I loved the moss wall as well. A clever backdrop alternative to the usual backdrops bought on rolls.

Not to mention these plants don't need some sophisticated lighting, they don't need any substrate, and they are just very low-maintenance in general. Mosses are a GREAT option for people with low-light tanks, no nutrient-rich substrates, and low/standard lighting. Plus, these plants look truly BEAUTIFUL. Class plants for almost no price - I think you couldn't ask for anything better

P.S. The moss wall looks so beautiful I think I'll make one for myself!

Carol, I want to have one tank with mosses only. A full tank loaded with mosses. Once I buy the moss and it grows enough, I'll transfer some to my 10 and 30 gallon tanks, and I'll grow it as much as I can in there. I wanna make a moss wall in at least one of them. Maybe I should make a little moss wall in the 75 g. too

Thanks for sharing those links. I do believe I've fallen completely in love with the moss wall! However, once I get my new tank I think the most practical way for me to use moss would be attaching it to some rocks and driftwood. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for the info, Isabella! I would like to have some mosses in my aquarium!

Just one question: Can mosses attach to unnatural ornaments? Like made out of clay? Thanks in advance.

I don't see why not I mean, driftwood for example is soft and porous compared to artifical aquarium decor, so I suppose it's better for any plant. But I think the Moss should grow on any decor piece in your tank. If it can grow/spread over the substrate/gravel, why not on a piece of decor?

I was just looking for plants that would grow in my lowlight! these are perfect! i was planing to include java moss but now i want them all! Everyone is fawining over the 'moss wall' but what I really want is the moss lawn. I love the look of having the whole tank bottom planted but dont have to money to get good plant gravel and CO2 to do it now I can have my lawn and my money!
