BIG driftwood

Well, tonight I drove to Mobile Bay(about a block from my house) and collected some driftwood. I found a giant piece, also, and was wondering if you guys had ever seen anything this large used in an aquarium(other than a public one, that is).

If not, I think I'm going to cut it into slices, drill it, and plant in it.

I'd guess its about 5' long, at least 10" thick.

Re: BIG driftwood

Never seen anything larger than that in a home aquarium. Unless someone has some 300+ gallon tank, I don't think this log will fit inside a home tank, lol And even if it did fit by some miracle, it would take out an awful lot of space (which means you would have to have less fish in your tank).

Re: BIG driftwood

Thats kind of what I figured...but you know, not everyone can take 5 minutes to get to the beach and find driftwood, so I figured I'd put it out there. I don't want to see this thing just rot in my front yard, so I think I'm going to use about a 4 inch slice in my tank, and use the rest for....something else :P Planters, scratching post for the cat, I don't know.
