i got these plants in about 2 weeks ago ...somebody's been eating on them!! i was wondering which one could it be?...lets see i got bala sharks, tiger barbs, rosys, sebea mono, rainbow sharks and plecos... who do you think has baan eating on my new real, plants... i haven't realy seen anyone do this but there all chewed up!!...Is this going to get worse? should i just go ahead and get fake ones? or ya think the'll be ok ?What can i do to save them?
Sometimes sharks and plecos can be really rambunctious and uproot or tear plants. If the Plec isn't getting enough greens he may rasp on your plants and cause holes in the leaves.
bell I deleted the duplicate post in freshwater beginners. Duplicate posts in different areas make it difficult to get all your information together and time consuming for our members to reply to all the posts. Hope you don't mind

Thats fine, but i did have a post yesterday with a video of my pleco hiccupn' and all of those got deleted... I'll put just one post up but did you leave hiccupn' skuz on at lest one?... Im not sure about the rules on the post like that so im sorry, if i wasn't suposed to do that :P
They look kind of like crypts, they have a habit of the leaves disintigrading when first planted. It happens so often there is a name for it called "melting" . If nobody is truly eating them and they are melting they will re-grow their leaves.

Thats ok, it just makes it easier to read all the posts if their not duplicated in other spots And easier for you to get responses all in one place. (cute plec by the way )

It is the Mono. Also the Mano should be kept in a brackish aquarium with no tankmates since they grow large and are agrresive.
..I had two one died I just got this one left...He's been put in hes place by the bala sharks anyway. I've watched him... after his bud died he got very peacefull. He just stays in one place keeps to himself... but thanks I'll keep watchn' him he maybe doing it at night. Oh Yea, I got some algae wafers today for my plecos too...Thinking they might be sucking on the plants and tearing them up like that...Bell
If they are indeed crypts then no one is eating them as they tend to taste bad to fish for some unknown reason. To me they look more like ruffled swords that haven't been getting full nutrients. If it is a sword then the most likely eater is the bala shark or pleco, they both nibble and munch on plants when hungry.
