Plant and plant supplement question

Today my girlfriend bought a Bacopa Caroliniana Plant for our tank, we weighted it down under the gravel, im not sure if this is the proper way for this plant, i couldent find any information. the roots are kind of floating just above the gravel, are they suppose to be barried?

Also she got some supplement that the pet store sold her.

they are seachem products;

One is Flourish Excel
and the other is Flourish Iron

Are these good supplements for our tank? I havent put any thing in yet im wating for my master test kit to come in , should be any day now.

It is a 10 Gallon tank.

I may be wrong about this because I'm pretty new at all this myself, but I basically just stuck mine into the gravel and put some stones around it too. So far people have said those plants will live ^^

Maybe this will help:

I use the Flourish products on my planted tank and they seem to be working well
