water changes after cycle is all set

After the levels are set and we add fish... how often should us beginners be doing water changes? Someone told me about a 25% water change once a week for a month, then less often after that... is this true?

Do you ever do a complete water change?

Do you have to add any chemicals to the water when doing water changes?
I mean, when you do a 25% water change for example... do you add any conditioners or just leave it?

Thanks!

Once your cycled, 25% a week should be good to maintain the tank. Less often is ok depending on your nitrates but remember you're also replenishing oxygen and other nutrients with a water change.

There's rarely a case where 100% water change is a good idea.

Use a good water conditioner with every water change to remove chlorine, chloramines and detox heavy metals from your tap water.
